Cookie Policy

Last updated: 21 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how WeKomply ("WeKomply", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use, in compliance with the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site. Cookies can be "persistent" (stored until they expire or you delete them) or "session" (deleted when you close your browser).

Similar technologies, such as web beacons, tracking pixels, and local storage, may also be used. For the purpose of this policy, we refer to all of these technologies collectively as "cookies".

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes. We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising, profiling, or marketing tracking.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set only in response to actions made by you that amount to a service request, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will then not work.

Functional cookies

These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly.

Analytics cookies

These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our site.

Marketing cookies

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

3. Cookies we use

At present, WeKomply uses only strictly necessary cookies that are required for the secure operation and delivery of our website. We do not deploy analytics, marketing, or functional cookies by default.

Strictly necessary cookies are set by our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, Inc., and are required for the website to be delivered securely and to protect against malicious traffic. These cookies do not collect or store any personally identifiable information.

4. Legal basis

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the GDPR, we process cookies as follows:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — do not require consent. The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functional website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and our compliance with the ePrivacy exemption for essential cookies.
  • Functional, analytics, and marketing cookies — require your prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Where we introduce such cookies in the future, we will request your consent through a cookie banner and record your preferences. The legal basis for any such processing will be your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Managing your cookie preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View cookies that are stored on your device.
  • Delete individual or all cookies.
  • Block cookies from particular sites or from all sites.
  • Block third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies.

Please note that if you disable or delete cookies, some features of our website may not function correctly. Since we currently use only strictly necessary cookies, blocking all cookies may prevent you from accessing or using the website.

6. Third-party cookies

We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, or social media cookies. Our website is served through Cloudflare, which may set strictly necessary security cookies as part of its DDoS protection and bot management services. These cookies are essential for website security and do not track you across the web.

If we add third-party services in the future that use cookies, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required, obtain your consent before any non-essential cookies are placed.

7. Data retention

The retention period for cookies depends on their type:

  • Session cookies — are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device until they reach their expiry date or until you delete them manually. Security-related cookies set by Cloudflare typically expire within 30 minutes to 24 hours.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to any personal data processed through cookies:

  • The right to access personal data collected about you.
  • The right to rectify inaccurate personal data.
  • The right to erasure of your personal data.
  • The right to restrict processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@wekomply.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.dk).

9. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
